Ace Hotel x Shapeways 3-D Dress Unveiling with Michael Schmidt on muse Dita Von Teese
We’re so glad to have been a part of such an innovative moment in fashion and tech, as designer Michael Schmidt (in collaboration with Francis Bittonti Studio) unveiled the world’s first fully articulated 3-D printed gown on muse Dita Von Teese (made possible by the awesome people at Shapeways).
Watch the design process, from Michael’s inspiration from the golden ratio, working with the 3-D printing technology, and the final product.

Ace Hotel 3-D Printathon: March 2nd
We were so bummed that the Nemo blizzard foiled our plans to get our 3-D jewelry action on at the Ace Hotel during #NYFW, but we’re happy to announce that the event has been rescheduled to this Saturday, March 2nd!
If you want to check out what happens when 10 accessories designers are paired with creative technologists to create sustainable 3-d designs forged out of nylon powder, this is the time to do it.
This Saturday (March 2nd), local designers in the vein of In God We Trust, Chris Habana, and Ten Thousand Things, will pair up with CAD designers to imagine and create new jewelry designs using printers from Makerbot at the Ace Hotel.
Custom printing will be available on-site all day, and the open flea will feature designers ranging from Anna Sheffield to Ursa Major so there’s bound to be some cool pieces in store as well.
Be sure to get there by 2pm for the symposium on 3-d printing and fashion’s future; Michael Schmidt (who has dressed luminaries from Lady Gaga to Rihanna to Madonna), Brooks Hagan, and the evangelists from Shapeways and Makerbot will all speak on the panel.

The White Fall: Andrea Diodati FW13 NYFW + Small Girls PR!
Four score and a couple months ago, Mallory was lounging in her jammies, watching the telly (Sundance Channel’s “All On The Line”), when a magnificent creature graced the screen. It was Andrea Diodati, and her whimsical sense of style was so Small Girls-esque (think pink, girly, and spunky) that it instantly captured Mal’s Hello Kitty loving heart.
And so, we’re beyond thrilled to be working with Andrea for the NYFW debut of her Fall 2013 line, at an enchanted little pink and white chapel on the Upper East Side of Manhattan this Wednesday!
Andrea’s line in all its glory is inspired by textures hailing from vintage cheerleading uniforms and the delicate disposition of white birch tree branches. Classically trained pianist, Nibia, will serenade the models as they walk down the aisles of All Souls Chapel, and following the show, there will be snowy white cotton candy to nibble on and sparkling pink lemonade to sip.

Candy & Crafting with Prom Girl + A Fashion Show Extravaganza

Can’t wait to share Prom Girl 2013 trends with the world on Friday, December 14th at their Fashion Show Extravaganza! They’ll be previewing these styles on the runway, from sparkling sequins to neon brights- as the Jane Doze and Payton Rae perform.
With a candy bar by Handsome Dan’s Candy, prom-itive energy bracelets by Alex + Ani, hair touch ups by Jose Eber hair tools, prom photos by the Bosco Booth, and illustrations by Lacee Swan, it’s sure to be a fun night!

Anna and I went to the Madison Maxey trunk show and got to hang out with a bunch of great people and finally met one of the lovely ladies behind Small Girls PR.
