@ Last night’s NY Observer BetaBeat launch party, organized by the prom dress-adorned ladies of Small Girls PR, Bianca & Mallory! They put me in this Sherri Hill dress for the evening, topped off by BetaBeat branded duck boots.
Bianca with current intern Klarika, and former intern Leigh at the Beta Beat launch last week. These girls help keep the Small Girls glitter flowing.
Small Girls Intern Search!
The time has come again, for us to find another enthusiastic intern to join our team!
Take a look at our clients page and if you or someone you know might be interested, read our intern duties below and let us know if you’re the small-or-tall boy-or-girl we’ve been waiting for.
Tasks include (but are not limited to):
- Maintaining healthy e-lationships with bloggers. Do you read blogs? Do you write to blogs? Want to start? It’s sort of fun, if you get clever with your subject titles, intros, and sign-offs. We like to use ‘<3<3<3’ or ‘high-five from down low’, ourselves.
- Sourcing & identifying both digital and print outlets relevant to client projects. Our clients are up to cool stuff, and while we like to shout it out from the rooftops to anyone passing by, we have a more focused strategy as well. We need you to help us find out those who might be interested in the client project details and personally reach out to them with samples, mailers, or invites.
- Assist in all other sorts of wacky press outreach. We’re big into creative event invites, so this means creating, assembling & delivering hand-made mailers.
- Assist in event planning coordination. From concept to execution, this could entail assisting in sourcing party elements, favors, venues, sponsorships, partners and coming up with ideas for how to level-up our game. This particularly includes working at the events, whether it’s manning an interactive station, the guest list, etc.
- Mild content creation and social media managing. Sometimes our clients come to us for different ways to showcase their wares and talents on the internet. This could mean taking photos, helping us shoot or edit videos, hatching ideas for contests, and posting all of the above on Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter etc.
- Going to parties. While we do everything from brand consulting to social media management to press, part of our job is partying— what? who knew? This means part of your job will be going to said parties (either with us or in our stead) and getting down with your bad self (by bad we mean good).
We’ll only need you once or twice a week and you will get to work out of the elusive Makery off of the Bedford L stop. This place is filled with young, smart, attractive people.
Don’t let our name fool you, we are gender & height friendly. We’re age friendly, too, and can offer college credit if needed.
If interested, email us your CV at bigbiz [at] smallgirlspr.com, with your blog or twitter handle & a little bit about yourself.

So yesterday while I was working Maxx was sitting next to me at my desk drawing for about twenty minutes. After she left I looked at what she made and realized that she is a genius.
On the left is Zachary’s business card which was sitting next to her. On the right is Maxx’s drawing.
I mean, come on.
:)
Totally want Maxx to be our Small Girls intern.
Bianca is Maxx’s biggest small fan…. or smallest biggest fan… or whatever.
ANYWAY- Maxx is a small girl and a genius, which would make her the perfect addition to the Small Girls team.
Small Girls is growing…
… the Business that is! (We’re still short.)
We hit the ground running and now have an entire roster with some of the most awesome clients, from bands to fashion brands to tech ventures to food start-ups (why, yes, there ARE a couple cupcake clients in the mix.) Now we are both the smallest and the luckiest girls in NYC and hope to be doing the biggest business with one more on our team.
We’re looking for an intern/new bff who likes to bro down and listens to music. Someone who knows a bit about fashion and totally gets the internet, with an interest in marketing or PR.
