Every two weeks here at The Odd Slipper, we’ll be bringing you “In Her Shoes” - an inside look into the shoe tips & tricks by petite-footed women in fashion.
Meet Christine Petric of The View from 5 ft 2!
How did you get involved in fashion and social media? I started my blog one night after coming up with the idea, launched it and boom! It was a done deal. I had been inspired to start sharing the same things I share with my friends—deals, my own style, and my personal adventures. I’m so glad I decided to just go for it.

How She’d Wear It: Jen Rubio on The Odd Slipper’s Cheetah Pumps
Cheetah print is my new favorite neutral. I’d show off these Odd Slipper pumps with Tibi sequin shorts peeking out from under a camel cape (with a leather tank or silk blouse under it, depending on the occasion). For a dose of bright color, this McQueen chain-strap clutch is perfect (look at that skull detail!), and I’d complete the outfit with a stack of black gold and acrylic rings and a textured gold YSL cuff—and obligatory black acetate Warby Parker frames to help me see. Individually, everything is pretty understated, but it all comes together for a fun but polished look.

How did you get involved in fashion and social media? I left a comfortable (and very boring) corporate job to pursue my love for social media and worked for startups, big companies, and fun agencies before coming to Warby Parker. Here, I run the company’s social media marketing initiatives and love that I get to interact with the fashion and media set without dealing with a lot of the day-today that comes with those industries.
What was your most memorable experience buying shoes? The first Louboutins I bought with my own money. It felt really good to save for something I wanted and something I knew would last from season to season. I got a pair of black Simple 100s—a classic pair that I wore all the time (to my old corporate desk job) until they were beyond repair.
