We stopped by Guest of a Guest’s and ELLE’s party at the Burberry Soho store last week, and found ourselves surrounded by leather and studs. Yeahhh Burberry, we see what you’ve been doing, turning your brand from being seen as uber prep to uber edgy.

At any rate… we decided to take photos around the store and rate things on a scale of 1-10.
1. Mannequin Couple
Bianca: I give this mannequin couple an 8. I’m really into the white lacy crochet thing that the dress has going with the studded belt. It says pretty, with a hint of tough. Love the leather jacket on the man… I would probably wear that jacket because men’s clothing is awesome. The boots were cool also, but you can’t really see them in this picture. My only complaints are that the girl needs a jacket (duh, it’s cold out), the man needs to be taller (luv tall bros), and his pants need to be tighter.
Mallory: These mannequins get a 5 from me. They were just standing around the whole party, taking up space and not even talking to any of the other guests. It was also way too easy to tell which mannequin was the girlbro and which mannequin was the dudebro. If this was a real life fashion-forward NY couple, it’d probably be a lot harder to distinguish what was going on. Maybe they did that on purpose to avoid approaching the uncanny valley? Ok, in that case, I give mannequin couple a 7 for not freaking me out in case I really took advantage of that open bar.
2. Array of Belts
Bianca: The two leather belts with the studded buckles get 10’s. What? There are other belts in this display?
Mallory: Belt 2nd from the left looks like it is probably in the new Tron movie. I just did a quick google to verify if it actually is in the new Tron movie and came up with a bunch of pictures of a fat guy in his early sixties wearing a Tron costume and helmet. 10.
3. Studded Cuffs
Bianca: 10. On all of them. Duh. OMG. Have you SEEN our logo? Have you SEEN the S on BUSINESS? Those studs are mine.
Mallory: 7 These were awesome but mostly heavy. I have elegant, dainty wrists that can’t be weighed down when they need to be conducting strat magic with a simple flick.
4. Studded Leather Gloves
Bianca: Um. 10. I think Burberry is effing with me. Studderific. I need a good pair of gloves and these gloves would be perfect. I would probably cut the fingers off (were they not really expensive). How does one text with gloves that aren’t fingerless?
Mallory: 9. These would look great on my elegant, dainty wrists while conducting strat magic with a simple flick.
4. Boots/Cube Display (?)
Bianca: What are we rating here? I’m into the cube though. The cube thing gets a 5, the boots get a 6… they look warm. Where are the studs?
Mallory: I saw a hot guy pointing to those boots a lot so I took this photo as a placeholder to remember hot burberry bro. Hot burberry bro gets a 10. Boots he was pointing to also get a 10 because obviously everything he touches is gold. Sigh. RIP hot burberry bro from my lyfe RIP
6. Studded Sandals
Bianca: 7 They’re mad hot, but it’s mad cold outside.
Mallory: 6 I “get” it but I’m not “into” it. They look like sandals someone put a heel on as an afterthought. SADFACE.
