#ScrippsPRSSAtoNYC goes to Secret Clubhouse:
We had members of Ohio University’s PRSSA chapter stop by our office this morning to learn about how we do PR at Small Girls. Absolutely LOVED having them here and sharing our story. It’s so great to see such a motivated group of students who are passionate about PR and open to learning as much about the field as possible.
If you can remember, we discovered our rockstar Account Manager Annie through PRSSA when Mallory spoke at their conference in Utah! We had her share her story with the group, so they could see how beneficial being a part of the organization is.
We also encouraged tweeting during our presentation, and tweets we did get. We wish we could RT them all… but for easier social consumption, we just posted an album on Facebook of their kind kind words they tweeted.
Of course no Small Girls talk is complete without giving people things- so we added some glitter into their lives by giving them some BA Star cheer stars! You know, bc glitter is an ingredient to being a PR star.
The Kroll Show’s “PubLIZity” - it’s based off our name…
If you’ve been watching the Kroll Show on Comedy Central, we’re sure you’ve been introduced to “Publizity”, a recurring sketch on the show parodying two PR girls who run a firm together. Oh… that sounds vaguely familiar.
The match between ‘the hardworking one’ and the one who wants to ‘live her life’ are among the PR tropes represented in this sketch, which may *ahem* seem a little familiar. Yep- many of our friends have frantically called or emailed us commenting on the fact that the similarities are uncanny… and if you thought you were the first, we hate to break it to you but we probably caught on to it before anyone else. But of course, as much as we can laugh about it, in the grand scheme of things we love the dichotomy in our personalities and have to admit that opposites definitely make the best team.
That being said, we have some totally serious PR tips for Liz B. and Liz G. the co-founders of “Publizity”, in order for them to level up their game:
- When naming your PR firm, you should clearly base it off of your height, not your name.
- Sending a dog down the red carpet? Try sending your celebrity puppy client down a pink prom fashion runway instead. Oh hai TommyPom.
- Custom cupcakes are super tasty and we love them, but customized fro-yo and a sparkly jewelry line to match your fro-yo creates SO much more buzz.
- And last but not least, let’s talk about the Publizity Pinterest. Kudos for also having a nail art board, but, you guys are missing a board dedicated to #GLITTER.

A look inside our Barbie’s Dream Closet on The Coveteur
It’s no secret that we’re obsessed with Barbie, so when The Coveteur opened the closet doors of our favorite fashion icon, we most definitely squealed with excitement. We’ll admit to the fact that we’ve watched multiple episodes of “Barbie: Life in the Dream House”- particularly those that cover the topic of her massive wardrobe. Oh yeah… we know how it goes down in BB’s closet.
Check out all the pink, glitter, and ruffles that make up Barbie’s style. Looking through the racks, we’re pretty sure that we own life size variations of most of these pieces. Also, some of those dresses are pretty PromGirl-esque, don’t you think?

Small Girls PR <3’s Glitter Guide
When we started following the Glitter Guide’s tumblr prior to the site launch, we were instantly obsessed. We reached out to Taylor to let her know that we too subscribe to the glitter 4 life mantra, as we spread Small Girls #glittervision all over our internets.
It’s getting close to a year since Small Girls & Glitter Guide made beautiful sparkly magic for their site launch event in SF. It has been so amazing to see Taylor’s vision come to life, as we followed GG’s posts on great bloggers, fashion, lifestyle and more (all in it’s shimmery glory, of course).
We thought, what better way to show our <3 than with a glittery gif?
