coryvines:

We’re excited to kick off Music Monday at Cory Vines, with a playlist created to get you just as excited as we are for our upcoming launch. Get ready to start the week with this mix, as we gear up in the next couple of weeks to start our Cory Vines adventure early March!

Check out this mix on @8tracks: “Cory Vines Ready To Start”

We’re ready to start with this mix by our new client, Cory Vines.  Perfect for your workout- whether that be going to the gym, dancing (in your seat), riding your bike around brooklyn, etc!

With tunes by Neon Indian, Ra Ra Riot, Calvin Harris, and more, we are doing the second at our desks as we speak post.

Our friends & rap group Das Racist broke up today.

Frontman Victor will now be taking the opportunity to pursue his career as a dancer. Check out this video we filmed of him in our offices dancing to some disco.

American Apparel NY Warehouse Sale- A Shopping/Dance Haul Video

As previously posted, American Apparel had invited Small Girls to the VIP Warehouse Pre-sale, and as previously posted, Mallory and I bought a lot of stuff.  I’m re-defining the shopping haul video with sweet dance moves… Let’s be honest, I’ve never been a fan of just talking about something. #dancefever

Watch the video to see what I got!  And of course, since my dance videos are never complete without props:

headband-puma, eyewear-tortoise & blonde, cuff-sorrelli, necklace-cheap monday, fox hat-made by Arkadiy Kukarkin, pom poms-toys r’ us, feather mask-party city (actually technically given to me by haute like couture)

music: The Static Jacks- Into the Sun (RAC remix)

YAY.

Event Address

766 Avenue of the Americas (6th Ave)

between W. 25th and 26th

New York, NY 10010

  • Friday, December 16 - Friday December 23 9am to 9pm
  • Saturday, December 24: 9am to 6pm

  • Monday, December 26 - Tuesday, December 27: 9am to 9pm

Attendees are encouraged to RSVP on Facebook here: http://www.facebook.com/events/167448383351516/

We decided to take a different approach to your traditional shopping haul video, so we did what we do best… (as lykke li would say) dance, dance, dance.

Many thanks again to Joey at American Apparel for inviting us to the warehouse pre-sale! <3

Tortoise & Blonde presents: 45 Seconds of Dancing with Victor from Das Racist

Rhythm is a dancer… and also a Victor from Das Racist wearing Tortoise & Blonde glasses.

It’s been a major giggle-fest watching this video.  We like to think of it as the warm-up for Das Racist’s performance on Conan.

Dancing to The Hotcakes’ “Lucky Girl”

Like I said… I couldn’t help it.  Some dance moves I picked up from Erin Marsz, of The Hotcakes, herself.  Some I picked up from Jacob, some from Mallory, and some from my childhood self.Disco hoodies, favorite vintage navy hats, prom dresses and stuff.

Excuse the quality.  Photobooth was being a d-bag.  Also, being pixelated is like the cool thing to be these days.  Duh.  It’s not that serious.

BUT HEY, if you want to dance with me come to the EP Release Show this Saturday, 11PM at Arlene’s Grocery!

Music: The Hotcakes- “Lucky Girl” from their new EP “Gonna Go Out!”

My new favorite hat: from the awesome Quality Mending Company

Bianca got caught dancing to one of our client’s jams again.  (Another one of our tests… If Bianca won’t dance to the band, we can’t work with them).

Also! Awesome Hotcakes interviews up today on:

Crushable: NYC Band ‘The Hotcakes’ on Dating, Dancing, and ‘No Doubt

Blackbook: The Hotcakes Deliver Good Old Fashion Rock & Roll

NYU Local: The Hotcakes Will Get You Moving This Saturday at Arlene’s Grocery

Check em and dance around with us at the EP Release show this Saturday! Arlene’s Grocery, 11PM.

Small Girls is growing…

… the Business that is! (We’re still short.)

We hit the ground running and now have an entire roster with some of the most awesome clients, from bands to fashion brands to tech ventures to food start-ups (why, yes, there ARE a couple cupcake clients in the mix.) Now we are both the smallest and the luckiest girls in NYC and hope to be doing the biggest business with one more on our team.

We’re looking for an intern/new bff who likes to bro down and listens to music. Someone who knows a bit about fashion and totally gets the internet, with an interest in marketing or PR.

Tasks include (but are not limited to):

  • Going to parties.  While we do everything from brand consulting to social media management to press, part of our job is partying— what? who knew? This means part of your job will be going to said parties (either with us or in our stead) and getting down with your bad self (by bad we mean good).
  • Maintaining healthy e-lationships with bloggers in the music, fashion & tech communities.  Do you read blogs? Do you write to blogs? Want to start? It’s sort of fun, if you get clever with your subject titles, intros, and sign-offs. We like to use ‘<3<3<3’ or ‘high-five from down low’, ourselves.
  • Assist in all other sorts of wacky press outreach.  Creative event invites n mailers n stuff. O, HOW COOL & EXCITING 4 U 2 DO WITH US!
  • Assist in event planning coordination.  Source party favors, party elements and come up with ideas for how to level-up our game.
  • Mild content creation and social media managing.  Sometimes our clients come to us for different ways to showcase their wares and talents on the internets.  This could mean taking photos, helping us with videos, hatching ideas for contests, and posting them on Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, Friendster, etc.
  • Dancing.  In case you haven’t heard… we are big on the dancing.  EVERYWHERE and ANYWHERE.

We’ll only need you once or twice a week and you will get to work out of the elusive Makery off of the Bedford L stop. This place is filled with young, smart, attractive people. And hummus (seriously, lots of hummus.)  We’re also instituting Cake Breaks in the office, in which we take a break from our crazy work load and eat cake.

Don’t let our name fool you, we are gender & height friendly.  We’re age friendly, too, and can offer college credit if needed.

If interested, email us your CV at bigbiz@smallgirlspr.com, with a little bit about yourself, and your top 3 favorite songs from the 90s.  Or fill out this fancy form.

Little Girl Spawns Dance Craze For Samsung - Adrants

As small girls who love to dance, we can get behind this ad.  Well… not sure if it makes us want to buy the phone, but it certainly makes us want to jump around and be silly.

Also, this happens wherever we go.  We tend to inspire dance parties at the most random of places… walls come down and everything.
